McDonald has more than 35 years of experience in the electronics and communications industry, primarily in the satellite communication sector. He co-founded DataPath in 1996, growing the company to prominence as one of the industry’s largest satellite communication ground system providers with over 5,000 remote SATCOM terminals deployed around the world. McDonald has served as its President, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Planning and its initial Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He returned to DataPath as its Executive Chairman when the company was reacquired from Rockwell Collins in 2014.
As DataPath’s Chief Operating Officer Brad will support the company as it expands in scale and continues its focus on quality and efficiency. Brad assumes a broad base of responsibilities including engineering and technology, processes and quality, information systems, supply chain, program management, logistics, technical services, and customer care. A satellite-industry veteran, Majeres brings extensive leadership experience to DataPath, having previously served as a business line general manager and head of engineering, program management, and operations at organizations including ViaSat, General Dynamics, and Scientific Atlanta. Brad is a proud graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and has devoted his career to innovation and excellence in the Satellite Communications industry.
Carter Johnson serves as DataPath’s SVP and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining DataPath he was a SVP of Finance with Meggitt. Additionally, he was the Senior Finance Officer of Barco’s Aerospace and Defense Division for five years. His previous experience includes leadership roles in several technology and software firms with responsibilities in Finance, Technology, Project Management, Procurement, and Business Operations.
Before moving into the private sector, Carter served in the US Army as an Aviation Officer and Comptroller. His assignments included multiple command, operations, and intelligence positions in the states and overseas. As a Colonel in the Army Reserve, Carter currently serves as a liaison officer with NORTHCOM.
Carter has an MBA from Syracuse University, is a graduate of the Defense Comptroller Program, and recently completed the US Army’s War College. Carter is a Certified Defense Financial Manager.
Mike Underwood is responsible for the DataPath Technical Support Services (TSS) business unit. TSS includes DataPath Global Field Support Services, Teleport Operations & Maintenance, 24×7 Network Operations Center, Training & Documentation Services, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). A DoD-industry veteran, Mike has a history of successes in communications technologies and technical services. His background includes designing, manufacturing, fielding and sustaining various C5ISR solutions and other weapons systems for the United States and international customers. Mike’s roles in the past decade include President of SCI Technology, Inc. and Vice President of Programs with Leonardo DRS. He also served as Vice President of Business Development, Vice President of Products and held management positions in Design Engineering, Programs, Operations, and Supply Chain. Mike graduated from The Georgia Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree as well as a minor degree in Engineering Psychology.
As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Barry Botts leads DataPath’s efforts in creating and maintaining customer confidence, and driving corporate growth by providing end-to-end solutions that enable successful mission execution. He has extensive experience with organizational growth as a Business Development, Strategy, and P&L executive in the Defense and Government markets. Prior to joining DataPath, he served as the Vice President of Products at SAIC (formerly Engility), and held leadership positions at Cubic (formerly DTECH Labs) and L3HARRIS (formerly L3 Technologies). Barry is a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
